Introduction

My name is LINDA RICHTERS and I am a self-taught photographer from New Hope, PA who supports her photography habit by working as a freelance musician and a technical writer.

Digital photography is my medium. For me it’s a very affordable and practical means of practicing and learning various photographic techniques.

Any Photoshop work that I do is no different from what one does with film: burning/dodging, applying special effects filters such as a sepia or a soft focus, etc. My computer has become my darkroom and I no longer need to rely on a 3rd party to process my photos.

I don't believe in creating alternate realities with my photos such as adding a different sky or adding objects that were not there when I took the photo. That's a different type of art and I prefer to portray the small corner of the world that I visited on a given day as it really appeared. This way, the viewer can share in the experience.
